Cancer Coaching

If you have cancer or are supporting someone who does, working with a cancer coach may be the most important thing you do.

Diagnosed with cancer? Overwhelmed, frustrated, or scared?

A cancer diagnosis is devastating to most people, but it is not a death sentence. In fact, most often cancer patients heal well and live long, healthy lives. Having the support of a cancer coach can make a huge difference in both your quantity and quality of life.

As soon as  you receive a cancer diagnosis, so many factors appear to be out of your control. In actuality, this is not the case. A coach can empower you to take control of your health. Working with a cancer coach will help you shift your mindset from feeling like a victim to changing the cancerous terrain that brought cancer to you.

Cancer coaching goes beyond hand-holding. A coach is not a therapist, but may help you cope with emotions and can serve as a sounding board and opportunity to discuss ideas and next steps.

As a medical detective I came to the understanding that conventional treatment for cancer is often consensus-based, not evidence based. Never believe that just because your well-meaning doctor recommends a long-used protocol that ‘he must know what he is doing’ or that it is the only option for you. That does not mean that there is no place for conventional treatments, only that the efficacy and safety of them can be improved with integrative modalities.

As your coach I will help you think outside the box, offering suggestions and options that might not be presented by your medical team. I will help you to uncover the reasons for your cancer so you can heal from it.

I will help you incorporate every lifeline you may need for long term survival. I will support you in your choices as you heal from your cancer. My goal is to help you to not just survive, but to survive and live well.

Your job is to believe you can heal and to be able and willing to do what you need to do. Most importantly, it is important that you be confident with your choices.

Please note that like other coaches, I work independently as opposed to working for a specific hospital or cancer center. As such, insurance companies do not cover my fees. It also means I don’t have benefits or paid vacations. I realize that hiring a private coach is expensive, so I offer much free online information, including YouTube discussions.

In your everlasting good health,

  1. Elyn,
Great to catch your twitter note. I am a cancer survivor and it pains me to read about those who are visited by this malady. Got off my early stage prostate cancer last 2001 by surgery. No chemo, no radiation, thank God.

Since then started reading up about how to stay healthy and one thing came up. Since we are 70-90% water/fluid/blood, if we take care of this much of our body, we have a better chance of staying healthy.. Dr. Robert O Young writes that the fluids in our system is alkaline, pH greater than 7.4, NO disease can survive. “The pH Miracle” book.

So therefore, drink at least 6-8 glasses of truly, genuine alkaline water. Of course, you need more veggies in your diet, some exercise, enough sleep, less stress, be at peace with your creator and etc.

I came across two 38 year old Japanese companies which produces reliable, tested alkaline,
anti oxidant water which appears to give good results with thousands of users around the world, of the alkaline water produced by the small kitchen – top appliance made by one of the Japanese Company which operates their factory under three ISO standards.

Some people call his snake oil, so you have to have an open mind and investigate which I did and have the machines and have been drinking this water. Needless to say, after all is said and done, the Lord has the last say. Water or no water, when He calls, we are gone to the other side. I no longer have a problem with that. I have also read up on that since the year 2000.

Before I close, I am blessed to have grown up in one part of the world, worked in another and now growing old in South Carolina. So I have a very open mind and will listen to you if you say drink tea made from bitter melon leaves or have Yam in the morning after eating your fruits. Or eat your fruits first so the stomach absorbs all the good stuff, before taking in all the other yam, chicken and etc.

All and best and God Bless,
    Manny

  4. I am a cancer survivor and healed cancer without surgery, chemotherapy, or radiation. I also wrote a book called “Defeat Cancer Now,” on how I did it and the symptoms experienced. I like your quote; “It is for us and us alone to choose and be confident with a path chosen. Doubt is not a healthy thing, but is ever-present. However, again, it is unfair of others to cast doubt or offer opinions.” Too bad that so many in the alternative health realm or claim to be into “natural” healing modalities dismiss my findings into alternative health and healing cancer naturally.

  5. There are so many different camps when it comes to cancer treatment. What works for one may not work for others, but we owe it to ourselves and others to keep that open mind. I for one, love to learn from others. Sad when people close their minds. Thanks for stopping by Tamara.

  6. The following is a comment by Crystal Bull
“As the senior co-chair of the AAMD Annual Conference, I was tasked with finding a Keynote Speaker for our 38th Annual Meeting this past June. I came across Elyn’s website and even though I have been in the oncology field for over 13 years – I was unaware of the role of a cancer coach. I was very interested in having Elyn come speak to our members and tell her story of how/why she became a coach and the difference she makes on a daily basis. I was very impressed with Elyn’s professionalism from the very first time we spoke – not only did she agree to be our keynote speaker, but she wanted to learn more about our dosimetry profession so she could better understand the audience. I had the pleasure of working very closely with Elyn on this project for several months and gained a great appreciation for her and the work she does as a cancer coach. Elyn was an amazing speaker and received very high reviews from our attendees. I highly recommend working with Elyn as she truly cares about her profession and is the epitome of professionalism!” Crystal R. Bull, MS,RT (R)(T), CMD

  7. Elyn as a cancer survivor I was happy to find your website as a source to reinforce what I know about lifestyle. I have just started Tamoxifen, however I am not sold on taking anything for five years. Other than breast cancer which is in my family, I am a healthy 50 year old woman. I eat well, exercise, have a positive outlook on life, a great husband, family and friends. I’m realistic in knowing that cancer may rear it’s ugly head again in my lifetime. So for now I will do what I can to curb it and keep up on the latest research. Thank you for sharing your story. I hope that I can help others who are battling cancer too.
